Featured Mayor: Meet Bob Adolfson

Known as “Bob” to his clientele, Adolfson has committed the past 15 years to the real estate and mortgage industries. He leverages a unique combination of experience as a REALTOR®, mortgage broker, and CPA, to offer expert input that the average agent cannot match. Being a part of 12 times more transactions than the average Realtor gives an “unfair advantage” to his clients. He uses that to sell property at the highest price in the least amount of market time for his sellers and obtain the lowest price possible with most favorable terms for his buyers. You will find him friendly, relatable and of the highest integrity. His approach to real estate has proven successful for his clients, yielding repeat business and ongoing referrals.

What was the reason you decided to get into real estate?

“Being a CPA was too boring.”

When you’re not busy showing homes and negotiating offers, what extracurricular activity or hobby consumes your time?

“Love early morning golf on the lakefront at the South Shore Cultural Center, traveling with my wife, and walking my dog in the neighborhood.”

What Chicago neighborhood or hot spot are you most likely to be spotted in after a long day of work?

“Las Fuentes (Halsted & Wrightwood) – Great Mexican food with the best outdoor patio in the city. Family owned – ask for Benjamin!!”

What’s the one thing you’re sure to recommend doing/seeing in Chicago when out-of-state friends/family come visit?

“There are so many and hard to pick just one, but what I do know is that Chicago has something for everyone.”

What makes you different from other real estate agents?

“Being a licensed loan officer.”

Do you specialize in any particular type of real estate or specific type of deal?

“Estate sales, relocation, and distressed sales (short sale and foreclosures).”

How do you leverage technology to help you be one of the best in the industry?

“Consistent, committed efforts to the team’s social media campaigns. Team thought on relevance of content and leveraging that exposure to serve y clients real estate needs.”

Tell us the most unique or interesting home you’ve ever shown?

“500 LSD #Penthouse: My clients brand new apartment that looks directly down onto Navy Pier with 15 ft floor-to-ceiling windows on the entire east side. Absolutely amazing to watch fireworks on Navy Pier.”

Any “bloopers” during showings that you’re willing to share?

“Another agent asked me to put the piece of candy back that I took out of the candy dish.”

What is your real estate spirit animal and why?

“The Wolf: Guardian of the family, and when it comes to real estate this translates to the one who bides one’s time. Strong instincts, immune to market chatter touting the “next new thing.” I seek out your forever home – a place where your family will thrive and grow; however, I also see the value in taking on a project (for those properties that aren’t exactly turnkey) when it is beneficial and ensures longevity.”

Mayor badge: The top 3 agents within each neighborhood earn this coveted badge by having the overall highest Truepad scores.
