Truepad Privacy Policy

Your privacy is very important to us. We’ll only ever access your account to help you with a problem or fix a software bug.

Information Collection, Sharing, Use and Opting Out

When you sign up, we ask for your name and e-mail address so we can personalize your account, provide you details on all of the homes on Truepad and to send you updates or other relevant information. We’ll never sell your personal information to third parties, or use your name without first asking permission.

When you contact us with a question or to ask for help, we will keep that message and your contact information, for future reference. When you browse our pages, we'll track that information to improve our product (like “favorite” homes and to test new designs). We also store any information you volunteer to us, like surveys, for as long as it makes sense. The only time we’ll ever share your personal information is to:

  • Provide products or services you’ve requested, with your permission or
  • Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our Terms of Service or as otherwise required by law.

If Truepad is acquired or merged with another company (although we don’t plan on it), we’ll notify you before your information becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

When you are signed in to your Truepad account and using Truepad through Facebook, Google+ or any other third-party authorization service, we may use information that you agreed could be provided to us to further customize your Truepad experience.

User Supplied Data


All data is encrypted via SSL/TLS when transmitted from our servers to your browser. The database backups are also encrypted. Data isn’t encrypted while it's live in our database (since it needs to be ready to send to you when you need it).

Deleted Data

When you cancel your account, we'll ensure that nothing is stored on our servers past 30 days. Anything you delete on your account while it's active will also be purged within 30 days (up until then it's available upon request).

E-mail Communications

We communicate with account holders regularly. You will always have the right to opt-out of some or all of our communications.

Law Enforcement

We won’t hand your data over to law enforcement unless a court order says we have to. We unconditionally reject requests from local and federal law enforcement when they seek data without a court order. And, unless we're legally prevented from it, we’ll always inform you when such requests are made.


Children can’t buy homes, at least not without the help of adults. We do not knowingly collect Personally Identifiable Information from children. If you are a parent or legal guardian and think your child has given us information to help them buy a home that you don’t want us to have -- we are impressed! You can contact us and we’ll slow them down by removing all their information from our Site. Please title your inquiries "COPPA Information Request - Child Truepad Entrepreneurship Award."

Truepad Terms of Service

By using the Truepad ("Service"), you are agreeing to be bound by the following terms and conditions ("Terms of Service") and Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”).

Truepad, LLC ("Company") reserves the right to update and change these Terms of Service without notice.

Violation of any of the terms below may result in the termination of your account.

The Role Of Truepad

Truepad is a licensed real estate broker in the state of Illinois but does not broker real estate transactions. Truepad does not act as a real estate agent.

Fair Housing

We at Truepad believe that everyone in the United States should be able to obtain housing without discrimination because of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, handicap, family status or national origin.

Account Terms

You must provide your legal full name, a valid email address, and any other information requested in order to complete the signup process.

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password. The Company cannot and will not be liable for any loss or damage from your failure to comply with this security obligation.

Your login may only be used by one person – a single login shared by multiple people is not permitted. You may create separate logins for as many people as you'd like.

You are responsible for all content posted and activity that occurs under your account. This includes content that is posted by others on your behalf, who have their own logins under your account.

You may not use the Service for any illegal purpose or to violate any laws, including but not limited to copyright laws.

You must be a human. Accounts registered by “bots” or other automated methods are not permitted.

Payment, Refunds, Upgrading and Downgrading Terms

Our Service to home buyers and sellers is offered free of charge.

Cancellation and Termination

You are solely responsible for properly canceling your account.

All of your content will be immediately be inaccessible from the Service upon cancellation. Within 30 days, all this content will be permanently deleted from all backups and logs. This information can not be recovered once it has been permanently deleted.

The Company, in its sole discretion, has the right to suspend or terminate your account and refuse any and all current or future use of the Service for any reason at any time. Such termination of the Service will result in the deactivation or deletion of your Account or your access to your Account, and the loss of all content in your account. The Company reserves the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time.

Modifications to the Service and Prices

The Company reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, any part of the Service with or without notice.

Prices of all Services are subject to change upon 30 days of notice from us. The notice may be provided at any time by posting the changes to the Truepad site or the Service itself.

The Company shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, price change, suspension or discontinuance of the Service.

Copyright and User Provided Content

All content posted on the Service must comply with U.S. copyright law.

All materials uploaded remain yours to use, although we each co-own the materials you provide to the Service. Truepad has the right to aggregate your user content in a non-user identifiable form for product improvement, research and publication.

The Company does not pre-screen content, but reserves the right (but not the obligation) in their sole discretion to refuse or remove any content that is available via the Service.

Agents using our advertising products

AGENT COMMUNICATIONS. By creating an account or continuing to use Truepad, you consent to receive text messages from Truepad until you choose to opt out. You may opt out by sending an email to indicating that you no longer wish to receive such messages, along with the phone number of the mobile device receiving the messages. We will then opt this phone number out of receiving further text (SMS) messages from us. You may continue to receive text messages for a short period while Truepad works to remove your phone number from our system.

LIMITED POWER OF ATTORNEY. You hereby appoint Truepad LLC as your attorney-in-fact (“Fact”) to act for you in your name (in any way you could act in person) with respect to the following powers: real estate information access, listing syndication, agent reviews, and private listing distribution via Zillow, Trulia,, your multiple listing service(s) and similar services. The power of attorney shall be in effect during your membership to Truepad websites and applications. It shall terminate when you cancel your membership. You are fully informed as to all the contents of this form and understand the full import of this grant of power to my Fact.

LISTING INFORMATION & HOME REVIEWS ON TRUEPAD. During your membership with Truepad, you give Truepad permission to publish all your Listings and all Home Reviews conducted on your listings by yourself and other agents. In the case where it is ambiguous, with conflicting information indicating whether or not to publish, you agree that Truepad has permission to publish and that this permission overrides all other directions provided by yourself or any third party, verbal or written, unless you have informed us in writing otherwise. To request to have a listing or all Home Reviews for a given listing removed, use the "Report this review" form on Truepad.

General Conditions

Your use of the Service is at your sole risk. The service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

Technical support is only provided via email.

You understand that the Company uses third party vendors and hosting partners to provide the necessary hardware, software, networking, storage, and related technology required to run the Service.

You must not modify, adapt or hack the Service.

You must not modify another website so as to falsely imply that it is associated with the Service or the Company.

You agree not to reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, resell or exploit any portion of the Service, use of the Service, or access to the Service without the express written permission of the Company.

We may, but have no obligation to, remove content and accounts that we determine in our sole discretion are unlawful or violate any party’s intellectual property or these Terms of Service. Verbal, physical, written or other abuse (including threats of abuse or retribution) of any Service customer, Company Employee or Officer will result in immediate account termination.

You understand that the technical processing and transmission of the Service, including your content, may be transferred unencrypted and involve (a) transmissions over various networks; and (b) changes to conform and adapt to technical requirements of connecting networks or devices.

The Company does not warrant that (i) the service will meet your specific requirements, (ii) the service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free, (iii) the results that may be obtained from the use of the service will be accurate or reliable, (iv) the quality of any products, services, information, or other material purchased or obtained by you through the service will meet your expectations, and (v) any errors in the Service will be corrected.

You expressly understand and agree that the Company shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, including but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, goodwill, use, data or other intangible losses (even if the Company has been advised of the possibility of such damages), resulting from: (i) the use or the inability to use the service; (ii) the cost of procurement of substitute goods and services resulting from any goods, data, information or services purchased or obtained or messages received or transactions entered into through or from the service; (iii) unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or data; (iv) statements or conduct of any third party on the service; (v) or any other matter relating to the service.

The failure of the Company to exercise or enforce any right or provision of the Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

The Terms of Service constitutes the entire agreement between you and the Company and govern your use of the Service, superceding any prior agreements between you and the Company (including, but not limited to, any prior versions of the Terms of Service).

Any new features that augment or enhance the current Service, including the release of new tools and resources, shall be subject to the Terms of Service. Continued use of the Service after any such changes shall constitute your consent to such changes.

Truepad Cookies

We put Truepad cookies on your computer to keep track of your activity on our Site. We use this information to help diagnose problems and performance issues, analyze trends and administer our Site.
